Moscow, 25 April (H.S.): Russia is prepared to negotiate a peace deal regarding the Ukraine war, as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated . His comments followed US President Donald Trump’s frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin over deadly strikes in Ukraine’s capital. Despite these tensions, Trump indicated he believes both Russia and Ukraine desire peace.

Lavrov confirmed Russia’s readiness to finalize a deal, mentioning that some specific elements still need clarification. The recent Russian strikes on Kyiv resulted in at least 12 fatalities and 90 injuries, targeting residential buildings. Lavrov defended the strikes as aimed at military objectives.

Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, expected to visit Moscow for further negotiations today on Friday.
