Washington, April 12 (HS): An unexpected change has been made to the decoration of the official residence of the President of the United States, the White House. This includes the removal of former President Barack Obama’s official photograph. In its place, a photo of President Donald Trump that went viral last year has been installed.
The White House has shared this change on its official account. Notably, last July, during a rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump was shot at. A bullet grazed Trump’s ear during the attack. Following this, a photo of Trump went viral worldwide, in which he is shown signaling to fight back, with his fist raised. This is the photo that has been put up in the White House.
Obama’s photo was placed near the stairs in the foyer of the White House’s state floor in 2022. It has now been shifted to the second wall in front. Previously, a photo of former President George W. Bush was here. Bush’s photo will be shifted to be placed alongside that of his father, George H.W. Bush. It is noteworthy that in 2022, then-President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden hosted Obama and his wife Michelle for the unveiling of Obama’s photo. Before this, Democrat Bill Clinton had hosted Republican George H.W. Bush, and President Bush had hosted Clinton.
Obama welcomed George W. Bush and his wife Laura to the White House for the unveiling of Bush’s official portrait in 2012. However, Trump did not host Obama during his first term.
According to the tradition of the White House, photos of the two most recent presidents are displayed in the foyer. The new photo of Donald Trump has been shared by the White House on its official X account. Notably, Trump’s photo has been installed without any prior notice. Trump is both a current and former president.
