Darrang (Assam), 21 April (HS): A tragic incident took place on Monday morning in the Bhuktabari area of Sipajhar-Garukhuti road in Assam, when a speeding dumper crushed a woman on a morning walk.

The woman has been identified as Meenakshi Barua, who killed on the spot. According to eyewitnesses, the dumper was moving at a very high speed and after losing control, it ran over the woman.

The police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and registered a case and started investigation.

The local people have expressed their displeasure over the lack of security arrangements in the area and have demanded strict action from the administration.
