NEW DELHI, 6 March (H.S.) : BJP had

promised women in the Delhi elections that if it came to power, it would give

Rs 2500 to every woman. It was said that this scheme would be implemented on

International Women’s Day. The BJP government in Delhi had promised to give Rs

2500 per month to women. It was said that this money would be given from 8

March, i.e., International Women’s Day.

According to

officials, women whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh and who do not pay

income tax will be eligible to get Rs 2500. Women between 18 and 60 years of

age, who are not in government jobs and are not getting any other financial

help from the government, will be able to avail themselves of the benefits of

this government scheme. An official said that several rounds of meetings have

been held to finalize the outline of the scheme. The cabinet note will be ready

by March 7, after which it will be placed for approval of the Council of

Ministers. The scheme was one of the proposals taken up in the first cabinet

meeting held by the newly elected Chief Minister and Council of Ministers. The

online registration will start from March 8.

According to

officials, a separate software is also being developed by the IT department

through which all the forms will be verified to identify eligible women. The

government has sought data from various departments to identify women.

According to the voter list, there are more than 72 lakh women registered

voters in Delhi, and 50 percent cast their vote. We estimate that around 20

lakh women will meet the eligibility criteria. The government aims to provide

this scheme to eligible women. He said Prime Minister Modi had said that as

soon as the BJP government is formed in Delhi, the scheme of giving Rs 2,500 to

women will be passed in the first cabinet meeting, and the work is also in full

swing towards this.
