World Athletics Unveils Nominees for 2025 Field Athlete of the Year Awards

Delhi, 21 October (H.S.): World Athletics has announced the five male and five female nominees for the 2025 Field Athlete of the Year awards. The nominations recognize outstanding performances throughout the 2025 season, highlighted by the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Following a voting period, two finalists will be selected from each category.Women’s Field Athlete of the Year NomineesValarie Allman (USA): World and Diamond League discus champion. She was undefeated this season and registered 9 of the top 11 performances.

Tara Davis-Woodhall (USA): World long jump champion. She remained undefeated this season and held the top 3 performances.

Anna Hall (USA): World heptathlon champion. She moved to equal second on the world all-time list and produced the top 3 performances of 2025.

Nicola Olyslagers (AUS): World high jump champion (both indoor and outdoor). She was also the Diamond League champion and a world-leading performer with a regional record.

Camryn Rogers (CAN): World hammer throw champion. She was a world-leading performer, moving to second on the world all-time list with a regional record.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Year Nominees

Mondo Duplantis (SWE): World pole vault champion (indoor and outdoor). He set four world records, won the Diamond League title, and was undefeated for the entire season.

Mattia Furlani (ITA): World long jump champion (indoor and outdoor). He was responsible for two of the top 3 performances of the year.

Ethan Katzberg (CAN): World hammer throw champion. He moved to fifth on the world all-time list with a regional record.

Hamish Kerr (NZL): World high jump champion and indoor silver medalist. He was the world’s top performer with a regional record.

Pedro Pichardo (POR): World triple jump champion.The voting process has commenced on World Athletics’ social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), and will conclude on October 26.

The winners will be announced at the World Athletics Awards on November 30.

Nominations for the Track Athlete of the Year were released on October 13, and the Out of Stadium Athlete of the Year nominees will be announced on October 27. The overall men’s and women’s World Athletes of the Year will be selected from the winners of the track, field, and out-of-stadium categories.
