
Washington, 08 February (HS): Wreckage of a missing plane was found on Thursday in Alaska, United States. The bodies of all 10 people on board the plane have been recovered. The US Coast Guard announced this on Friday.
According to CNN news, the plane broken into pieces has been found about 34 miles southeast of the destination Nome. USCG Lieutenant Commander Mike Salerno said that two rescue swimmers have recovered three bodies. Seven other passengers are inside the wreckage. The dead include two employees of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, Ron Baumgartner and Kameron Hartvigson. ANTHC CEO Natasha Singh has expressed grief over the death of Baumgartner and Hartvigson.
According to Alaska State Troopers, this plane belongs to Bering Air. There were nine passengers and a pilot on board. The plane suddenly strayed from its destination due to bad weather and crashed. The Nome Volunteer Fire Department said Friday morning that bad weather hampered the search. Initial search flights by a US Air Force C-130 crew also yielded nothing.
