grand ‘Shaurya Sangrahalaya’ dedicated to the valour and glory of the Indian
Navy is being established near the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, the capital of
Uttar Pradesh. The aim of this museum is to convey the courage, historical
achievements and heroic tales of the Indian Navy to the general public, especially
the youth. This information was given by the state’s Tourism and Culture
Minister Jaiveer Singh.
The
tourism minister said on Thursday that ‘Lucknow has a long chain of religious
and historical places. This naval museum being built near the Ekana stadium
will be an important destination in this series. In the museum, tourists will
be told about the incident through multimedia display, details and stories.
Apart from all the equipment installed in the retired warships of the Navy, INS
Gomti, the Navy’s Sea King helicopter, Sea Harrier aircraft will also be
displayed in this museum. Visitors will be able to see and understand the valor
of the Navy and its history closely.

Singh said that retired warships and their related equipment like missiles,
torpedoes, canons and other items will be displayed in the Naval Shaurya
Museum. This museum will be the first museum related to the Navy in the
country, where there will be a collection of warships and ships. Apart from
this, other equipment related to the Navy will also be displayed. This effort
will prove to be effective in research in the field of Navy. Under this
initiative, students, researchers and historians will be provided access to
rare materials and documents related to naval history.

Singh informed that interactive installations are being installed at various
places in the Naval Museum with the aim of promoting the overall development of
children. The main objective of these installations is to provide children with
an opportunity to learn and connect through play and exploration. For children
accompanying their parents, this initiative will prove to be helpful in
improving communication and understanding. A special ‘Smriti Udyan’ is also
being developed to pay tribute to the valor and sacrifice of the soldiers. This
garden, full of natural beauty, has been designed as a calm and meaningful
place of remembrance, where visitors can respectfully remember the soldiers who
made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the country.
