Lakhimpur (Assam), 18 May (HS): A heart-wrenching incident has come to light on Sunday in the Simaluguri area of Lakhimpur district. A person named Putukan Konwar shot dead a youth named Pranab Gogoi in Chencha Rajgarh.

According to the sources, Pranab Gogoi and Putukan Konwar got into an altercation due to a family dispute in the Dubiyal Chuk area of Dhalpur. After the dispute, Putukan suddenly fired two rounds in the air from his pistol and then fled from the spot. During this, he also shot another person named Ranjit Raut.

Unfortunately, Pranab Gogoi killed on the spot due to bullet injuries. The police have started investigating the case and detained three people for interrogation. The arrested persons have been identified as Ranjit Raut, Kavita Gogoi Raut and Nripen Konwar.
