Guwahati, 12 May (HS): The 35th Rajnikant Dev Sharma Memorial Provincial and Regional Athletics Competition organized by Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam, affiliated to Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan, concluded on Monday. This competition was held from May 10 to May 12 at Shankardev Shishu Niketan, Barpeta Road.
In the closing ceremony, Purvottar Kshetriya Sangathan Mantri Dr. Pawan Tiwari, Kshetriy Khel Pramukh Ranjit Kumar Saikia and distinguished workers of Niketan Sanchalan Samiti distributed prizes to the winning students.
Praantiy prachar Pramukh Mukuteshwar Goswami, while giving information to the media at Prashant Path on Zoo Road in Guwahati, said that the participants who got first place in this competition have been selected for the upcoming Vidya Bharati National Sports Festival.
Guwahati division was awarded the Best Team, Lakhimpur division was awarded the Best Discipline Team and Sivasagar division was awarded the Best March-Past Team.
In his closing speech, Dr. Tiwari said, Students have an important role in building a new India. Physical education is the foundation of the all-round development of students. Development of hidden talents is possible through sports and the power to increase the dignity of the nation lies in this.
He motivated all the winning and participating students for a bright future and thanked all concerned for the successful event.————-
