New Delhi, 1 July (H.S.): The Digital India initiative marks its tenth anniversary, having launched on July 1, 2015. Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted significant growth in internet connections, surging from 250 million in 2014 to over 970 million today. The initiative has fundamentally transformed governance, the economy, and daily life in India.
BJP President J.P. Nadda praised it as a visionary program that has initiated a digital revolution, enhancing infrastructure and bridging the digital divide. The digitization efforts have simplified lives and increased transparency in governance. Key initiatives like e-Sanjeevani, UWIN, DBT, eNAM, and UPI have streamlined processes, reducing waste and ensuring accountability in the delivery of services. The Modi government aims to further expand digital access, ensuring that even those in remote areas can conveniently access essential services.
