Srinagar, Oct 30 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Para on Friday alleged that Jammu and Kashmir had suffered a financial setback of around Rs 1,000 crore after the High Court quashed demands related to hydropower water usage charges dating back to 2010.
In a post on X, MLA Para said the High Court had struck down the water usage charges, alleging that the administration’s failure to effectively defend the case had resulted in the loss of a crucial revenue opportunity for the Union Territory.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He also questioned the absence of an Advocate General for nearly two years and said the Law Department was under the Chief Minister’s charge.
“If this is how we defend our interests, what’s hope for the statehood case?” MLA Para said in his post. (KNS)
