Kathmandu, May 2 (HS): Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has postponed the cabinet meeting scheduled before the President’s address, during which the government’s policy and program was to be passed. Additionally, the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed state minister for energy has also been postponed.
The President is set to present the government’s policy and program in a joint session of Parliament today, Friday, at three o’clock. The cabinet meeting was supposed to pass this before that. However, at the last minute, the Prime Minister decided to postpone the cabinet meeting. The reason for this has not yet been disclosed.
Moreover, the swearing-in of the newly appointed state minister for energy, who was appointed yesterday by the government, has also been postponed. The swearing-in was scheduled for 10 a.m. this morning, but a notice has been issued for its postponement.
Due to the postponement of the cabinet meeting and the delay in the swearing-in of the leader appointed as the state minister from their party, the Nepali Congress has called an emergency parliamentary party meeting. Meanwhile, Speaker Devaraj Ghimire has announced that preparations in the Parliament for the President’s address are complete. He stated that we are all ready to welcome the President from 3 o’clock.
