“Ceasefire is in everyone's interest, Pakistan wants peace, Says Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif

Islamabad, May 11(HS): In an address to the nation on Saturday, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the recent India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement as in the interest of all and referred to this initiative as a symbol of Pakistan’s peace-loving mindset.

Prime Minister Sharif said, We are a responsible country. We have repeatedly shown that we are advocates of peace. This ceasefire agreement is beneficial for everyone, and we have accepted it with a very positive spirit. He specifically thanked friendly nations like Saudi Arabia and China for their diplomatic efforts to reduce escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

However, during his address, Sharif also made serious allegations against India, accusing it of killing civilians, destroying mosques, and spreading false information. He stated, India is confusing the international community with false propaganda while the real ground realities are very different. He mentioned that India has destroyed our military weapons and devastated military bases, and many Pakistani soldiers have also been killed in India’s attacks.

The Prime Minister reassured the citizens, saying, We will not sit peacefully until Pakistan regains its lost dignity. By the grace of God, that time is not far. He added that this ceasefire is not just a temporary agreement, but can pave the way for lasting peace and cooperation in the future if all parties understand their responsibilities.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope for dialogue to resolve water and Jammu Kashmir issues with India. The Pakistani PM also thanked U.S. President Donald Trump.

Notably, on Saturday evening, an announcement was made regarding the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, stating that there would be no attacks or firing between the two countries. However, just a few hours after this announcement, Pakistan started firing over Kashmir. Pakistani drones were also spotted in several areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
