Beijing, April 30 (H.S.): China has leveled serious allegations against the United States in a recently published white paper. It claims that the COVID-19 virus likely originated in the US before reaching China and calls for Washington to address this matter publicly.

Released by the Information Office of the State Council, the document titled COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Origin Tracing: China’s Actions and Stance emphasizes China’s collaboration with international scientists and the World Health Organization (WHO) to trace the virus’s origins. It posits that the probability of COVID-19 leaking from a Wuhan lab is very low.

Furthermore, the white paper accuses the US government of deflecting its own failures in handling the pandemic by blaming China instead. China urges a comprehensive investigation into the virus’s origins in the US, asserting that the international community deserves answers.
