Washington, 27 September (H.S.): Tech billionaire Elon Musk and Britain’s Prince Andrew are among the public figures named in the latest set of documents connected to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The records, handed to the U.S. House Oversight Committee by the Epstein Estate, provide new details of Epstein’s social and business interactions spanning nearly two decades.

According to the files, a December 2014 entry reminded Epstein’s team of Musk’s possible visit to his private island. Musk has previously stated he declined such invitations, and he has yet to comment on the latest disclosure.Meanwhile, a flight log from May 2000 places Prince Andrew on board a plane traveling with Epstein and his aide Ghislaine Maxwell from New Jersey to Florida. Maxwell was later convicted of aiding Epstein in sex trafficking minors.

Buckingham Palace has repeatedly stressed that the Duke of York denies any involvement in criminal wrongdoing. The documents are part of the third tranche of files produced by the Epstein Estate and reportedly include phone logs, financial ledgers, flight manifests, and schedules. They also reference meetings or planned events with other prominent names, such as billionaire investor Peter Thiel, former White House adviser Steve Bannon, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.U.S. lawmakers remain split on the significance of the disclosures.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee argue that the records underscore Epstein’s proximity to global elites and highlight the need for a comprehensive release of all documents to provide accountability for victims. Republicans have accused their counterparts of politicizing the investigation, promising to release the full trove of records independently.

Epstein, who was convicted of sex offences in 2008, died by suicide in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on new sex trafficking charges. His connections to powerful businessmen, politicians, and royalty have continued to fuel public scrutiny even years after his death.
