
New Delhi, Sept 28 (HS): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled a star-studded commentary panel for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, with a strong representation of women cricketers, including two former captains of India. The all-round panel is set to bring unmatched insights and energy to the tournament, featuring legends of the women’s game alongside renowned male commentators and broadcasters.
The commentary line-up includes World Cup winner Mel Jones, Isa Guha, Stacy-Ann King, Julia Price, along with India’s former captains Mithali Raj and Anjum Chopra, and Pakistan’s former captain Sana Mir.Joining them are England’s former captain Nasser Hussain, Australia’s Aaron Finch, West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, India’s Dinesh Karthik, and New Zealand’s wicketkeeper-batter Katey Martin.
Experienced voices such as Ian Bishop, Natasha Farrant, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, and Russell Arnold also strengthen the line-up.Veteran broadcasters Natalie Germanos, Alan Wilkins, and Kass Naidoo are part of the team, along with emerging presenters such as Raunak Kapoor and Jatin Sapru.
Mithali Raj, who has joined the panel, described the 2025 World Cup as an event that will inspire the next generation of girls. “To see the Women’s World Cup being hosted in India and Sri Lanka is immensely satisfying. It is not only about celebrating the world’s best players but also about inspiring young girls who dream of playing cricket. Having been part of this journey as a player, I am excited to share my experiences from the commentary box and highlight the players who are shaping the future of our game,” she said.
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will kick off on September 30 and conclude with the final on November 2. The eight-team tournament will be staged across five venues in India and Sri Lanka — Navi Mumbai, Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo. All of Pakistan’s fixtures will be played in Sri Lanka.
