India sends USD 2 million in medical aid to Nepal under Neighbourhood First Policy

Medical assistance sent to Nepal by India.

New Delhi, April 25 (HS): On Friday, India sent two million US dollars in medical assistance to Nepal under its neighborhood-first policy.

This assistance includes medicines and vaccines for patients suffering from thalassemia and sickle cell disease. The first batch of this assistance consists of 17,030 vials of vaccines for the immunization of thalassemia patients.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared a post on social media platform X, stating, In confirmation of India’s commitment to the neighborhood-first policy, India has sent assistance worth 2 million dollars in medicines and vaccines for patients with thalassemia and sickle cell disease at Nepal’s request.

The post stated, The first batch of 17,030 vials of vaccines for the immunization of thalassemia patients has been handed over to Nepal.
