India's airstrikes destroy four airbases and two radar stations in Pakistan

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi.

New Delhi, May 10 (HS): Pakistan conducted a series of military attacks early this morning utilizing drones, long-range weapons, fighter jets, and combat weapons against Indian military bases, leading to damage in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, and Bhatinda. India responded with airstrikes targeting four airbases and two radar stations across the border. Despite this escalation, India emphasized that it does not aim to intensify hostilities, urging Pakistan to refrain from further provocations.

The conflict saw heightened aerial exchanges starting around midnight, with Indian defense and radar systems successfully thwarting numerous attempts by Pakistan to infiltrate. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian army reported that Pakistan is persistently attacking the western borders and making aggressive use of high-speed missiles, particularly targeting an air force base in Punjab at 1:40 AM. She condemned these actions as reprehensible, highlighting attacks on civilian infrastructure, such as hospitals and schools near Indian air force bases.

In retaliation, India launched precise airstrikes using fighter jets on multiple Pakistan military installations, causing substantial damage to several airbases including Noor Khan in Rawalpindi and Rahim Yar Khan, along with disrupting radar communications.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh clarified that Indian forces targeted only militarily significant objectives while refuting Pakistan’s claims of destroying India’s S-400 system and attacks on Indian airports, which she labeled as misinformation.

The situation further escalated with a reported shelling of Rajouri city by Pakistan, resulting in civilian casualties, including the death of Additional District Development Commissioner Raj Kumar Thappa.

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reaffirmed the country’s position of responsible defense against Pakistan’s provocations and called for de-escalation. Despite retaining a high level of operational readiness, the Indian Armed Forces have remained committed to responding with precision, reflecting a measured approach amid ongoing tensions.
