New Delhi, April 25 (HS): After the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL), there were several changes in the lists of highest run scorers and wicket-takers.
Gujarat Titans’ young batsman B. Sai Sudharsan remains in first place with 417 runs. He has scored runs at an average of 52.12 and a strike rate of 152.18 in eight matches. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli jumped into the race for the Orange Cap with a second consecutive half-century. Against Rajasthan, he scored 70 runs off 42 balls, bringing his total to 392 runs in nine innings.
Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow Super Giants had a spectacular start in the tournament and remained the highest run scorer for many matches. However, due to poor form in recent matches, he has slipped to third place with 377 runs. Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav has consistently performed well this season, contributing in every match, and is now in fourth place with 373 runs.
Gujarat Titans’ fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is still the holder of the Purple Cap with the most wickets, having taken 16 wickets in eight matches. However, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets against Rajasthan, also reaching a total of 16 wickets. Yet, due to a higher economy rate, he is in second place.
Following Prasidh Krishna and Josh Hazlewood, there are seven bowlers who have taken 12 wickets each. New to this list is RCB’s Krunal Pandya (2 wickets against Rajasthan). Other bowlers include R. Sai Kishore and Mohammed Siraj from Gujarat Titans, Noor Ahmad from Chennai Super Kings, Kuldeep Yadav from Delhi Capitals, Hardik Pandya from Mumbai Indians, and Shardul Thakur from Lucknow Super Giants. Among these, the most economical bowler is Kuldeep Yadav with an economy rate of 6.50, while Noor Ahmad is second with an economy rate of 7.66.
