New Delhi, May 6 (H.S.): South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is now ready to make his return to the IPL after a one-month suspension. The Gujarat Titans confirmed in a statement released on Monday evening that Rabada is now fully available for selection.

Rabada accepted a one-month temporary suspension imposed by the South African Anti-Doping Agency (SAIDS) for consuming a banned substance during the SA20. He not only admitted his mistake but also completed a special program. After the completion of the SAIDS investigation, he is now eligible for the remaining matches of the IPL.

Gujarat Titans’ Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki expressed full support for Rabada, stating, It is our responsibility to stand by our players, whether it is regarding form or personal issues. Rabada has made it clear that he does not want this incident to distract anyone. He also mentioned that Rabada has learned from his mistake and is now fully focused on cricket.

Rabada returned to South Africa after playing the first two matches. With his return, he will bolster the Titans’ bowling as they head towards a busy end of the IPL season. Additionally, he has also become eligible for selection for the World Test Championship final against Australia, which will take place at Lord’s in June.

Solanki stated that Rabada has completed the required processes in accordance with the rules, and this matter should now be considered closed. The rules apply equally to everyone. Rabada has served his punishment, and now it is time for him to return to the field.
