Kulgam Police Win Locals’ Praise for Recovering 200 Stolen Sheep, Goats Within Days

Swift action brings relief to distressed family; victims thank police for recovering livestock worth their livelihood

Srinagar, Oct 22 (KNS): Police in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district have earned appreciation from a victim family and local residents for recovering around 200 stolen sheep and goats within days of the theft, bringing major relief to the affected household.

The livestock was stolen on earleir this month from Hompathri Yadwan village, leaving the family devastated over the loss of a valuable source of livelihood.

Gulshan Bano, a member of the affected family, told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that they had almost given up hope of getting their animals back after the theft.

“We never expected to get our livestock back. We were so distressed that we could not even eat properly,” she said, expressing gratitude to the police for their prompt action.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Bano particularly thanked the Deputy Superintendent of Police and women police personnel for their assistance, saying the stolen livestock was recovered within days and handed back to the family.

She also acknowledged the support extended by villagers during the difficult period, saying the family remained grateful to everyone who helped them.

The recovery has drawn appreciation from local residents, who lauded the police for their timely intervention and for bringing relief to a family facing a major financial setback.

For the affected family, the recovery was more than the return of livestock — it was the restoration of a valuable source of livelihood and a reason to hope again. (KNS)
