New Delhi, 10 May (H.S.): India has confirmed that Pakistan has violated the recently agreed ceasefire, with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stating that Indian forces remain vigilant and are responding appropriately to the violation. This announcement follows reports of explosions and drone activity in Srinagar just a few hours after the ceasefire took effect at 5 pm. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah noted the intensity of drone sightings and explosions shortly after the ceasefire was established.
In light of escalating tensions, particularly after the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in 26 civilian deaths on April 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level meeting with key officials, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Recent drone activity was reported along India’s borders after Pakistan launched coordinated attacks targeting military infrastructure at various locations. India effectively repelled these attempts. Multiple explosions were reported in Srinagar this morning, coinciding with blasts at Pakistani air bases.
In response to the Pahalgam attack, India executed ‘Operation Sindoor’, firing 24 missiles at nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, while simultaneously thwarting drone and missile challenges aimed at military targets across India.
