Gonda, 10 May (HS): A lady and her 62-year-old mother-in-law

reportedly committed suicide here amid a family feud, police said Saturday. Police

said the crime took place on Friday night in Laxmanpur Lal Nagar village. Sangeeta

Devi (35) committed suicide in her house by hanging herself with a saree. Around 10 minutes later, her mother-in-law,

Chhotaka Devi, went to a neighboring field and hung herself from a tree, said Sheshmani

Pandey, the SO of Itiyathok police station.

Sangeeta’s kid and Chhotaka Devi’s crippled husband were both present

when the event occurred. Neighbours forced into the house entry after hearing

the kid cry, but Sangeeta had already dead, according to authorities.

Pandey stated that Sangeeta’s husband and three brothers-in-law

were working outside at the time of the occurrence. They were notified, and the

remains were transported for postmortem.

Police said that further investigation is underway.
