RAJOURI, June 20: Security forces continued their intensive counter-terrorism efforts in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Saturday as Operation Sheruwali entered its 29th consecutive day in the dense forested region of Gambhir Mughlan.
The prolonged operation remains focused on tracking and eliminating suspected infiltrators believed to be hiding in the remote and mountainous terrain of the Dorimal-Gambhir Mughlan belt. Multiple security agencies are participating in the mission, which has become one of the longest ongoing anti-terror operations in the region this year.
Officials said troops have further strengthened the search grid across strategically important areas, conducting extensive combing operations in forests, high-altitude ridges and difficult mountain passages.
