Delhi, 10 May (H.S.): On Saturday, shortly after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire agreement, Pakistan violated the truce at several locations including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. The Border Security Force (BSF) was ordered to respond decisively to any ceasefire breaches. Reports indicated multiple blasts in Srinagar, leading to a blackout in the area. Additionally, a drone was shot down in both Rajasthan’s Pokhran and Baramulla, Kashmir.
The Pakistan Army engaged in artillery shelling along the International Border, affecting Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura sectors, while ceasefire violations were also noted along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu’s Palanwalla sector.
In Baramulla, suspicious Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were spotted, and the airspace was monitored closely, with reports of drones in Rajouri and an air raid siren sounding in Samba, Jammu. A blackout was enforced in Katra, the pilgrimage base for Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed skepticism about the ceasefire, sharing videos of drone activity and explosions in Srinagar. Authorities in Punjab’s Jalandhar and Ludhiana urged residents to remain vigilant and comply with blackout orders amidst the escalating situation.
The unexpected ceasefire announcement came after renewed military operations began following an April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam and resulted from talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) from both nations.
