PM Modi to participate in YUGM conference on Tuesday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed via video conferencing on Thursday.

New Delhi, April 28 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the YUGM conference at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on Tuesday at 11 am. On this occasion, he will also address the gathering.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said on Monday that YUGM (which means confluence in Sanskrit) is the first of its kind strategic conference that will involve leaders from the government, educational institutions, industry, and the innovation ecosystem. This conference will contribute to India’s innovation journey through a collaborative project worth approximately ₹1,400 crores, jointly funded by the Wadwani Foundation and government institutions.

During the conference, several significant projects in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant and innovation-driven India will be launched. These include a Superhub in AI and Intelligent Systems at IIT Kanpur and another Superhub in Bioscience, Biotechnology, Health and Medicine at IIT Bombay. In addition, Wadwani Innovation Network (WIN) centers will be established to promote research commercialization at top research institutions.

The conference will also feature high-level roundtable discussions and panel talks, including government officials, top industry leaders, and academics. Action-oriented discussions will be held to accelerate impactful research; a deep-tech startup showcase will highlight cutting-edge innovations across India; and various sectors will provide special networking opportunities to foster collaboration and partnerships.

The purpose of the conclave is to catalyze large-scale private investment in India’s innovation ecosystem; to expedite the research-to-commercialization pipelines in leading technologies; to strengthen partnerships among education, industry, and government; to promote national initiatives like ANRF and AICTE Innovation; to democratize access to innovation in institutions; and to promote national innovation alignment towards a developed India by 2047.
