London, May 5 (HS): In a crucial match of the Premier League 2024-25, Chelsea secured their hopes for Champions League qualification by defeating reigning champions Liverpool 3-1 on Sunday. Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer, and an own goal were involved in scoring for Chelsea.

From the beginning of the match, Chelsea showcased aggressive play and took the lead in the third minute. Cole Palmer’s pass was received by Neto, who set up Enzo Fernandez, allowing him to score and give the team an early advantage.

The second goal came through Palmer’s clever play when Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah accidentally scored an own goal while attempting to clear one of Palmer’s crosses. In the final moments of the match, Palmer scored his first goal since January via a penalty. This penalty was awarded after Quansah brought down Moisés Caicedo.

In the 84th minute, Virgil Van Dijk scored from a corner, giving Liverpool a glimmer of hope, but the team could not overcome Chelsea’s lead.
