Sitamarhi, May 6 (H.S.): As the country rapidly moves towards global thinking and modern lifestyles, what is the force that keeps us connected to our roots? That force is folk culture, which has been guiding society for generations. The brightest symbol of this folk tradition is Mother Sita, whose sacrifice, patience, and adherence to principles have not only enlivened a religious narrative but also shaped the soul of Indian society. Her ideals are still as relevant today as they were in the Treta Yuga. The upcoming Sita Mahotsav-2025, to be held on May 10 in Sitamarhi, is an important occasion for the renaissance of folk culture.
As the only multilingual news agency of the country, Hindustan Samachar will weave together the diversity of India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari through Sita Mahotsav-2025. The auditorium at Shri Janaki Janmabhoomi Punaradharam in Sitamarhi will witness the event themed ‘Mother Sita in Folk Culture and Folk Life.’ The main objective of this festival is to dedicate it to Mother Sita’s life and her contributions to folk life. Arvind Bhalchandra Mardikar, the Chairman of the Hindustan Samachar group, will preside over the event.
Rajesh Tiwari, the Chief Coordinator of the Hindustan Samachar group, stated that the Sita Mahotsav will convey the message that if we want a strong, ethical, and united India, we must return to our folk culture—one that is rooted in the life of Mother Sita. He mentioned that Mother Sita holds an unwavering place in folk culture, and the Sita Mahotsav is an attempt to re-establish her contributions in folk life. This program will also serve as an ideal example of honoring the deep roots of Indian culture and will provide new direction to society by connecting with the ideals of Mother Sita.
The Governor and religious and spiritual figures will enhance the grandeur of the festival
The Governor of Bihar, Arif Mohammad Khan, will participate as the chief guest in the Sita Mahotsav. He will share his thoughts on the life of Mother Sita and her contributions on this occasion. Additionally, the head of the Shri Janaki Janmabhoomi Temple Punauradham, Mahant Kaushal Kishore Das Ji Maharaj, will provide blessings. Notable speakers will include Mahant Acharya Mithilesh Nandini Sharan Ji Maharaj from Siddhpith Hanumat Niwas Ayodhya Dham, Mahant Dr. Shukdev Das Ji Maharaj from Bagahi Dham Sitamarhi, and religious and spiritual figures such as Anant Shri Vibhushit Mahamandaleshwar Shri Maa Yog Yogeshwari Yati Ji from Shri Panch Dashanami Juna Akhara. As distinguished guests, Padum Narayan Dwivedi, the State Information Commissioner of the Uttar Pradesh Government, Ram Suresh Chaudhary, Founder President of Bhagya Vidhata Charitable Trust, Executive President Santosh Suresh Chaudhary, and Director Bhaskar Jha will also be present.
An evening of cultural melodies will be adorned, with Uday and Surendra presenting their tunes
This festival will also feature an evening filled with cultural melodies. Renowned classical singer Pandit Uday Kumar Malik and devotional singer Dr. Surendra Kanaujia will add more vibrancy to the event with their music. Their sweet and classical singing will not only enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the program but will also elevate respect and reverence for Indian classical music to new heights. The cultural stage will showcase remarkable enthusiasm and energy in the tunes of Indian classical music. The blend of classical music and the life of Mother Sita will add a special charm to the program.
