Three Bangladeshi Women Arrested from Mahendra Park Area in Delhi

New Delhi, May 17 (H.S.): The Foreigners Cell of the north-west district has arrested three Bangladeshi women who were living illegally in India from the Mahendra Park area during a special operation. One of the women had established her identity in the area as a resident of West Bengal by identifying herself as transgender and was hiding by selling momos on the roadside.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Bhisham Singh of the north-west district reported on Saturday that two smartphones were recovered from them. One of the phones had the restricted IMO app installed, which they used to communicate with their relatives in Bangladesh. Additionally, a keypad mobile phone was also recovered.

He mentioned that a shocking revelation came to light during the Foreigners Cell’s investigation, revealing that a young woman known as Deepa befriended an Indian youth on Facebook. After their conversation progressed, she illegally crossed the border from Bangladesh into India. The youth received her in West Bengal, and they began living together in a rented house in Delhi. Neighbors considered her a local girl from West Bengal. The arrested women have been identified as Alina (22), Tanzina Rahman alias Deepa (22), and Suhan Khan (30). The police have handed over the three women to the FRRO RK Puram for further legal action.

According to the DCP, an analysis of suspicious individuals’ activities on social media began in May 2025. They identified a street in the Mahendra Park area through a Facebook reel, which displayed an ice cream cart. Based on that video, the police searched about 50 streets and finally caught the suspected woman. After questioning the young woman living under the name ‘Deepa,’ two other Bangladeshi women were also identified and taken into custody. Initially, both women tried to claim they were Indian citizens, but the truth came out during the mobile phone investigation and questioning. All three confessed that they had entered India through the Benapur border and were living in a live-in relationship with their respective male partners.
