Washington , 27 September (H.S.): US President Donald Trump has called on Microsoft to dismiss Lisa Monaco, the company’s President of Global Affairs and a former top official in Democratic administrations, citing national security concerns.

In a post on Truth Social on Friday, Trump asserted that Monaco’s senior position at Microsoft grants her access to highly sensitive information, which he claimed poses risks given the company’s extensive contracts with the US government. He noted that Monaco previously served as Deputy Attorney General under President Joe Biden, during the time legal cases were initiated against him.

Trump described Monaco’s appointment as “shocking” and said it should not be allowed to continue. According to him, the US government has already revoked Monaco’s security clearances, barred her from federal properties, and cut her off from all classified intelligence. The move is the latest in a series of actions taken by Trump since assuming office in January, which have included punitive measures against political opponents and critics.

Earlier this week, former FBI Director James Comey, a longtime Trump adversary, was indicted on two criminal counts.Trump himself had faced multiple federal inquiries after leaving the White House in 2021, including an FBI raid at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Charges over mishandled documents and efforts to overturn the 2020 election results were eventually dropped after his victory in the 2024 presidential election, in line with Justice Department guidelines against prosecuting sitting presidents.
