New Delhi, September 29 (HS): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a massive reward of ₹21 crore for Team India and its support staff following their historic Asia Cup 2025 victory over Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday. The prize money is eight times higher than the official tournament purse.India clinched the title after a thrilling final where Tilak Varma’s unbeaten 69 guided the team to a five-wicket win.
With this victory, India defeated Pakistan for the third time in the tournament and lifted the Asia Cup trophy for a record ninth consecutive occasion.BCCI celebrated the triumph with a post on social media, declaring: “Three strikes. Zero response. Asia Cup Champions. The message is clear.A reward of ₹21 crore for the team and support staff.”
The board, however, has not yet disclosed details on how the amount will be distributed. Apart from this, India will also pocket the official winner’s prize money of USD 300,000 (approximately ₹2.6 crore) from the tournament organizers.
Beyond cementing India’s dominance in the Asia Cup, the victory has also sent a strong message ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Experts believe that such a significant reward will further boost the morale of the players and inspire them to take on future challenges with greater determination.
