Hyderabad blast plot: Arrested men confess to ISIS links

New Delhi/ Hyderabad, 19 May (H.S.) : Hyderabad city police arrested two suspects, Siraj Ur Rehman, 29, and Syed Sameer, 28, for allegedly planning blasts linked to an ISIS handler from Saudi Arabia. A press release revealed their involvement in a six-member Instagram group that included members from Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Two group members were tasked with making tiffin box bombs, while the others scouted potential targets in Hyderabad. Police indicated that the suspects stayed in the city for three days, with Siraj ordering materials like tiffin boxes and wires via Amazon. On May 18, police arrested them and seized chemicals used for explosives. Both have been remanded for 14 days by the Vizianagaram court.
