New Delhi/MALE, 19 May (H.S.): India has entered into 13 MoUs with the Maldives to improve ferry services in the island country through a grant of MVR 100 million, enhancing maritime links and boosting local livelihoods.
The MoUs executed on Sunday pertain to initiatives to be carried out under the Indian grant aid program—High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) Phase III. The signing event occurred at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing yet another significant step in the continually strengthening relationship between the two nations, according to a statement from the Maldives’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The 13 initiatives initiated in this phase represent a total funding of MVR 100 million (approximately Rs 55,28,47,552), mainly focused on improving ferry services in the Maldives, increasing connectivity, and boosting community livelihoods, it noted.
