Domestic Flights Resume in Nepal as Weather Improves

Kathmandu, October 5(HS): Domestic flights in Nepal resumed on Sunday morning after a two-day suspension caused by continuous rainfall, officials at the Tribhuvan International Airport said. Flights have restarted on routes where weather conditions have improved, including services from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and Bhadrapur that took off earlier in the day.

Airport authorities confirmed that weather in Pokhara and Surkhet has also turned favorable for air travel, allowing operations to resume on those routes as well. Meanwhile, international flights have returned to their regular schedule since Sunday morning.

Domestic air operations had been disrupted since Friday evening, while heavy rainfall on Saturday also affected international flights. Several international services were diverted to Indian cities including New Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Kolkata.
